CT Basement Systems donations

Basement Systems, Inc. CEO Larry Janesky at the Seymour, CT Animal Shelter.

Larry Janesky, founder and CEO of Seymour-based Basement Systems, Inc., has donated a total of $6500 to the Town of Seymour to benefit its animal shelter and police department.

Animal Control Officer Deborah Ice, who has maintained the Seymour Animal Shelter over the last seven years, recently accepted a check for $4500 from Janesky on the shelter’s behalf. Ice has long been an advocate for improving the shelter, which has been described as crowded and “falling apart.” Janesky’s donation will be used to improve shelter conditions, purchase supplies and pay for ongoing maintenance.

In addition to the money, Janesky also donated a SaniDry unit – a commercial grade dehumidifier by Basement Systems that will improve the air quality. Janesky’s desire to help the shelter comes as no surprise – it’s located just down the street from Basement Systems on Silvermine Road. Several employees have donated food and toys over the years and have long wished to see the conditions improve for the animals.

Janesky’s second donation was made to the Seymour Police Department to aid its efforts to purchase another dog for its K-9 unit. K-9 Officer John Oczkowski has been raising money to bring a new dog into the department since the summer. Janesky’s generosity brings the unit a little closer to accomplishing the costly goal of purchasing and training the unit’s second police dog.
